Leadership and delegation skills for today's EA

  • Defining leadership and its role in achieving excellence in the modern office environment
  • Key leadership attributes of a successful EA
  • Develop leadership qualities that will you give you credibility and enable you to influence, persuade and communicate with all levels of staff
  • Understanding and mastering the delegation process

11.00 Session 2 – ASSERTIVENESS AND COMMUNICATION DYNAMICS
Setting clear boundaries and presenting clear messages

  • Dealing with difficult behaviours and having difficult conversations
  • Giving and seeking meaningful feedback
  • Communication techniques to ensure you are presenting clear messages
  • Setting assertiveness boundaries – how to get the balance right
  • Using assertiveness techniques to manage conflict
  • Working through your common difficult assertiveness situations to see what other choices you could make to create a different outcome

13.30 Session 3 – INFLUENCING STRATEGY
Increasing your ability to influence others and affect change

  • Managing the expectations of others
  • Pushing back when necessary
  • Exercising authority when you're not in charge
  • Identifying the main areas that you can use your influence as an EA

15.30 Session 4 – GOAL SETTING AND MANAGING CONFLICTING PRIORITIES
Now you have all your key relationships in place, you can handle the most difficult situations and you are truly engaged in your role, it’s time to set some goals! This session will cover personal action planning, how to set goals, and how to ensure you keep a genuine work/life balance in the process

  • How balanced is your life really – and how to tip the scales in your favour

16.30     Close of masterclass

The masterclass will be conducted using a combination of presentation material and group exercises; maximising your learning potential. Please note that the masterclass content will be tailored to participants’ individual needs so the length of each session may vary. Refreshments will be served at appropriate times, including morning and afternoon teas and lunch.
